Trip to Morfar's

Well, over the past week we've been at Morfar's. We went for long walks with Elsa, Morfar's friend (girlfriend perhaps? *knudge knudge wink wink*), and her dog, Balu. It was really relaxing! Here are a slew of pictures that we wanted to share with you. You must understand, however, that we are very simple people. Most people plan to go to hot climates with beaches, or to go see mountains. Don't get me wrong, I love beaches and mountains, but there's something about the low clouds, the wind blowing the wheat in the fields, the odd sounds of the birds, the sea, and the cold north rain that catches us here. You'll see what I mean.

I begin with Morfar's "pets". He is really good with animals, in that he puts out food for them every day and allows them into his house. Missemor is the mother of many cats in the neighbourhood. For those that knew Terra, doesn't she remind you of Terra a bit?

Then there's Sorteper. This beautiful black/brown cat is quite skiddish. The grey and white cat is Broget (which means multicoloured). He's really affectionate!

Finally, the alpha, Herre Nelson (Sir Admiral Nelson). He was named after the British Admiral Nelson [whose statue is in the center of Trafalger square, London] Admiral Nelson lost his one eye to Napoleon in the battle of abukir in 1798. Our Nelson also has one eye and is the head of the house. He bosses the others around a lot but is very affectionate with us.

Every day we go for a walk through the woods and down to the harbour, where we sit by a shed and watch the ferry come and go. Here is a picture of the fields, just before we head into the forest.
Next is the forest, with the hole that we go through...can't you just imagine elves peering through the leaves? Here's one of Morfar and Elsa. She' s got red and green boots with purple pants...priceless:) Here's the forest, and finally the harbour (notice the clouds!).

I have more to add, but don't have time now. I gotta get downstairs cause Dave and I have gotten TOTALLY hooked on Desperate Housewives *hangs head * His cousin has all seasons on DVD. I'll blog again soon .
